Nicolae Jitariu has been passionate about amplifier design since an early age. He founded Rockna Audio in 1999, creating a series of highly successful amplifiers, including a 120-watt per-channel MOSFET Class A amplifier with just two gain stages. His fascination with digital audio led to Rockna’s first digital product in 2002. Nicolae used DAC technology licensed from MSB for his early products and later created in-house ladder DAC chipsets for Rockna’s exclusive use. Nicolae is recognized for developing the I2S interface for the PS Audio range of digital servers and converters, with this advanced interface remaining a key technology feature of Rockna products today.
